Tennis Court Construction Cost Can Be Affordable

Do You Need A Tennis Court?

Owners of a private residence or even a business do sometimes consider setting up a tennis court if their interests incline them to do so. Once you have decided on this, it is necessary to be aware of the costs of constructing a tennis court. Tennis court construction cost can depend on the additional things you need, the location of your courts, the number of courts required and the contractor appointed for the job. Clay tennis court construction costs can be lower than other types of courts.

Materials Used In Tennis Courts

There are number of different materials that can be used to construct a tennis court. This decision is influenced by the budget that the owner has and can also be linked to the usage of the courts. Clay is the most common material used for tennis courts. Courts can also be suspended or use grass or concrete. Grass was formerly used for Grand slam tournaments though this has now been changed to a hard court. Each surface has its own characteristic that players have to adapt to when playing on them.

Clay is Beneficial

The construction and installation of a tennis court requires consideration of the different materials that can be used. A vast number of people opt to go  in for clay tennis court construction. The initial costs of such courts are lower and this can influence the decisions of people who are budget conscious. The material is one that is completely acceptable for tennis courts and it is the material of choice for private residences and small business owners. The disadvantage with clay courts is that they do require continual maintenance which can add up to the cost, but in spite of this, clay courts are an option you must consider. This drawback of maintenance is offset by the affordability and other benefits for players. All these factors must be taken into consideration when you are looking at tennis court construction cost.

Setting Up The Court

The contractor or persons doing the construction of the tennis court need to be fully aware of the measurements and sizes of tennis courts. It is better to ensure that contractor you have appointed is one who has experience in building such clay tennis courts, and the more of them that he has set up, the better it is for you. The location and orientation of the tennis court is next. Courts are better facing north or south, as this would then ensure that players are not affected by the rising or setting sun when they play during those times. A north south orientation will make sure that the users of the court do not have such a problem.
