Backpack Tennis
From the parking area of Brasstown Bald Visitor Center, the trail head is south of this and then moves to cross GA 180 at Jacks Gap. From here, the trail continues to the Chattahoochee Gap where it intersects with the Appalachian Trail. The footpath continues to an old logging road that was improved by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1930. At Brasstown Bald's parking lot, the pathway follows the Union/ Towns county line.
At this point, the path leads south to Jacks Gap where it follows Wolfpen Ridge. The trail then makes an ascent on the first half mile where it then makes a steep descent further into Jacks Gap. The pathway continues on this high ridge trail as it passes through a pine forest. The trail then makes a crossing at Highway 180 and a spur road. After this, pace forward to a gradual descent and then to a series of uphill and downhill trek.
From here on the Jacks Gap, the path continues to lead to Henry Knob and then move towards an ascent to Brookshire Top. The Brookshire Top is the start of the Hiawassee Ridge where a brief dip on it continues to an uphill climb. Passing Eagle Knob, the trail then moves further to an ascent to Jacks Knob.
This trail is nevertheless a short and easy hike to the Appalachian Trail where the patch intersects the Chattahoochee Gap. After the crossing Highway 180, you will find some wonderful wildlife species such as hawks, crows, squirrels, bobcats, foxes, deer, bears, and ravens. The Chattahoochee Gap is about 200 feet above the Chattahoochee River's spring source. You may even opt to trek the lower portion of the mountain where the spring is nestled and just look for the mark for "drinking water".
If you move further on this trail, continuously follow the path that leads to Red Clay Gap and another 2.3 miles to Enota Resort. The Enota Resort is still on the Appalachian Trail that follows the tread way to the Red Clay Gap which offers outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. Just move further about 1.3 miles onto the underdeveloped trail which some refer to as the Joey Creek Trail that then leads to Enota North Georgia Retreat Center. Campground activities such as full hook-ups RV camping and tent camping are enjoyed in this mountain retreat where the peaceful atmosphere keeps you focused on the natural beauty of the surrounding.
Even the most mundane hike or camping trip can turn dangerous quickly when disaster strikes. If we have learned anything from recent flash floods and other tragedies it is that a reliable radio can save a life. We carry a variety of VHF, UHF and CB radios for sale. We also carry the more powerful 10 Meter Radios for those who feel they may need the extra broadcasting power.
Would a pair of tennis shoes be ok for a 2 day backpack camping trip in the mountains?
Probably. As long as you're talking about a decent pair of running, cross training or hiking shoes made of nylon with maybe a little suede, and some type of tread on the bottom, not skate shoes or casual shoes?
The thing to consider is how much weight you'll be carrying. Hiking in light shoes is only recommended when you're carrying less than 30 or 40 lbs of gear. For a woman I would go with shoes if you're carrying under 30, but I don't even let my wife carry more than 20 lbs, including food and water.
Twisting your ankle is caused by carrying too much gear and plodding along and simply not watching where you step. I've been wearing sandals and running shoes hiking since 1996 when I gave up on hiking boots, and lightening my gear every year as well, and I've never twisted anything.
In addition to a much lighter load on your feet and extra energy from that, you probably won't have to worry about blisters while hiking in shoes. Moleskin, what's that? I don't get blisters anymore, even after 21 mile day hikes.
You'll also need socks and I recommend simple 1 oz. "dress" socks made of 100% polyester or nylon which you can get at Wal-Mart or other department store. I carry two pairs and switch half way through the day, washing one pair and letting it dry hanging from my backpack.
You won't need a second pair of shoes if your first pair is light enough to dry overnight. And even if it does get damp, which mine always do, since I tend to just walk through streams without taking off socks or shoes, they will dry on the trail, especially with thin socks.

What is a good backpack to use for carrying tennis racquets while cycling?
I want to keep the racquet handles from bumping into my helmet. I need to carry two racquets.
This bag http://www.midwestsports.com/nike-tennis-bag/p/BA2240/ is perfect for that. Just put the strap across your chest and the bag stays securely on your back. No handle sticking out or unnecessary shoulder weight.
Prince also makes a good one http://www.midwestsports.com/prince-tour-team-tennis-bag/p/6P965-302/
